Baical Skullcap is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine, where it has the name huáng qín,As a Chinese traditional medicine, Huang Qin usually refers to the dried root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, S. viscidula Bge.Baical skullcap is a perennial herb belonging to the Lamiaceae (mint) family. Its primary root is thick, fleshy, and exhibits a brownish-yellow outer bark. The texture is hard yet brittle, making it easy to break. It possesses a faint aroma and a bitter taste.
